All ten of the fastest-growing Zimbabwean export products posted sales gains of at least 190% from 2010 to 2014. Not surprisingly, many of those top gainers were raw materials.

Overall, Zimbabwean exports fell 4.2% over the 5-year period.

  2. Feathers, artificial flowers, hair: Up by 771.8% ($2,040,000)
  3. Milling products: Up by 743.9% ($2,751,000)
  4. Other base metal goods: Up by 421.1% ($667,000)
  5. Coated textile fabric: Up by 383.3% ($029,000)
  6. Fish: Up by 371.2% ($15,299,000)
  7. Aluminum: Up by 362.0% ($4,352,000)
  8. Vegetables: Up by 250.3% ($4,340,000)
  9. Woodpulp: Up by 245.7% ($930,000)
  10. Sugar: Up by 191.5% ($153,156,000)


Synthetic filament yarn was the major factors behind Zimbabwe’s fastest-growing export product category, manmade filalments.

Sales of exported wigs and false eyelashes were the top gainers for the second-place feathers, artificial flowers and hair category.

Malt exports led milling products to its third-place finish.

Tungsten had the top sales increases for Zimbabwe’s exported base metal goods.
