
The total value of exported perfumes grew by an average 55.9% since 2021 when overall shipments of perfumes amounted to $22.3 billion.
From 2024 to 2025, international perfume sales increased by 2.8% compared to $33.8 billion in the prior year.
The 5 biggest international suppliers of exported perfumes are France, Spain, Italy, United States of America and the United Arab Emirates. Collectively, that cohort of perfume exporters surpassed three-fifths (62%) of globally exported perfumes during 2025.
Among continents, European countries sold the highest dollar worth of exported perfumes during 2025 with shipments from Europe valued at $25.1 billion or almost three-quarters (72.3%) of the global total. In second place were exporters located in Asia at 18.1%, while another 6.6% of worldwide shipments originated from North America.
Smaller percentages came from suppliers in Latin America (2.2%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, Africa (0.5%), then Oceania (0.3%) mostly Australia and New Zealand.
For research purposes, the 4-digit Harmonized Tariff System code prefix for perfumes and toilet waters is 3303. That code prefix specifically excludes aftershave lotions, personal deodorants and hair lotions.
