
That dollar metric results from an average 42.8% increase for worldwide beef shippers over the five-year period starting in 2021 when overall beef exports were worth $60.6 billion.
Year over year, the value of international beef sales accelerated by 22.4% compared to $70.7 billion exported during 2024.
From a continental perspective, suppliers in Latin American countries excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean earned the highest dollar amount for exporting all types of beef during 2025. Beef shipments from Latin American countries excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean were worth $26.8 billion or 31% of the world total.
In second place at 28.2% were suppliers in Europe, ahead of worldwide beef shipments originating from Oceania at another 17.7% led by Australia and New Zealand.
Trailing the above continental sources were beef exporters from North America (15.9%).
Smaller percentages trace back to exporters in Asia (6.7%) and Africa (0.4%).
Exports by Type of Beef
Fresh or chilled beef exports were worth $40.6 billion in 2025 or 47% of global beef exports. That percentage lags the 47.7% share one year earlier in 2024.
Frozen beef shipments were valued at $45.9 billion for 2025 or 53% of the world total. The percentage for frozen beef exceeds the 52.3% share for frozen beef in 2024.
The annual increase for fresh or chilled exported beef was a 20.8% expansion from 2024 to 2025, trailing the 23.9% year-over-year advance for frozen exported beef.
For research purposes, the 4-digit Harmonized Tariff System code prefixes are 0201 for fresh or chilled beef and 0202 for frozen beef.
